When my daughter told me she wanted a purple and orange room in the new house we were building, I thought I had plenty of time to change her mind. However the closer we got to finishing the house the more adamant she was that she wanted purple and orange! We had had the purple and orange chair for quite a while so that was a no brainer – and I decided that accessorize was going to be the only way to do this.
My main requirement from her room was storage, storage and more storage. So she has a desk to create her craft – although I still haven’t found the perfect chair or stall for this just yet. Her soft toy basket also lives under the desk and along with more drawers for clothes and art supplies, we also wanted a toy cupboard!
I added dots over the whole wall, using 3 shades of purple and 1 orange just placing them at random. I found a vintage french poster that had the perfect colours in it. I didn’t want to place too much on the walls, it would of made it too crazy!
Be adding accessories around the room using purple and orange tones brings the colours that she wanted but it still remains a great space without it clashing too much.
Her bedding is from Kip and co it is reversible, the other side has rainbows on! The main commitment of colour to her room are the purple velvet curtains – so she had better like purple for a long time!
